Graphics Work Begins
We have finally decided on a platform for the application. The Illustrated Analyst will be coded in C/C++ and displayed
graphically using Matt Woodruff's C++ illiSkel. A java version of the application seems too far out of the question right
now.
Progress For the Week
- The computation code is complete and the Theorem can now be verified graphically
- George, Karen, and I decided to proceed with the OpenGL version of the software. Java has been put on hold for now.
- The illianalyst is now compiling on both Linux and Windows.
- George and I have Ben's picker working in illiAnalyst. Now we have a method of inputting functions.
- Met with Karen concerning the MathFest presentation.
Most of my work during week 7 will concern adding features to the illiAnalyst. We would like to have more functions built
in to the application so that it is more interesting to show off. George would also like to see the convolution animated.
Proposed Work for Weeks 7
- Add canned functions to the code so that we have additional methods of inputting functions.
- Create viewports for the functions f and g and for the convolution f*g.
- Add Stewart Levy's stars.
- Try to figure out a way to animate the convolution.
- Set up application defaults and functions so that the app is ready for MathFest.
- Meet with Karen to create the presenation for MathFest and present it to the group.
