We take a large number of antennas. At the present we have six of them,
and we distribute them over the ground. And then we combine
the signals from pairs of antennas to measure basically the correlation of the signals
as they arrive. This gives us ideas about the sizes of the things we're looking at.
If you take all of these measurements, then in the computer you can do the equivalent
of focusing the signals together to produce an image.
