So, digital video sounds good but "what is it and how is it used in education?"
There are two main uses of digital video in a problem based or inquiry based curriculum. First, students can research a subject, make a video, and edit it into a coherent "report." For information on this see our "How To" section.
Secondly, students can use a variety of software tools to analyze motion, annotate events in a film clip (either produced by the class/group, down loaded from the web, etc.), or using preexisting video, pictures, text and sound clips students can make comprehensive multimedia presentations. Teachers and students can make curricular materials and we have provided a number of examples. We have also prepared a few example lesson plans for teachers as well as lessons for students. |
