Single, Non-Rotating, Distorted Black Hole
Low amplitude disturbance: timeline and apparent horizon
The horizon evolution is shown again with a timeline which records the history of
the shape of the black hole. This timeline traces out a visual picture of the
horizon evolution. The scale zero to ninety on the timeline is in natural units
of the mass of the black hole. From this diagram we can see that the black hole
oscillates with a wavelength of about seventeen M, while the increasing redness
in the history diagram shows its evolution towards a perfect sphere.
