Single, Non-Rotating, Distorted Black Hole
High amplitude disturbance: gravitational waves
Using the same visualization techniques, a new calculation is performed where
the initial gravitational wave is given a much larger amplitude and a more
complicated spatial structure. In this case the waves contain enough energy
that they strongly effect the black hole distorting it wildly. As the system
evolves a rich dynamic pattern of gravitational waves develops. The black hole
still responds by generating lobes of gravitational waves at regular intervals,
but in this case the pattern is much more complex.
