The first things we'll see are among the most violent events
in the universe, and what's hard to understan, is how could
they be so violent and yet so invisible in all the other
channels we look at. You don't see it in the radio waves,
you don't see it in the optical, you don't see it in ultraviolet,
don't see it in x-ray. And that's because the black holes themselves
are these geometric objects; they don't have regular mass that emits
electromagnetic radiation; they only have this gravitational radiation.
