Hi ,

I am working on measuring the bandwidth of a testbed. It consists of the 
following

- 64 IBM machines each with 4 Intel 1000BT dual Ethernet cards ( 1 Gb RAM )
- Cisco 6509 switch chassis with a supervisor blade and 6 blades of 48 1000bT 
ports each

I want to measure the bandwidth when
- two machines are directly connected ( crossover cable )
- 4 ports on one machine with 1 port on 4 machines
- same as the two above but with the cisco swith in between. ( maybe try 
sending traffic through different blades to check inter-blade bandwidth )

I will be using iperf to perform all the bandwidth measurement tests. ( any 
other tool ?? )

Can anyone suggest the kind of test i should run / kind of data i should try 
sending / any similar experience / anything that will help .
