Problems with iperf -w

Hi, I am trying to run the command iperf -s -w 'X'k, But whenever I give a value of X > 2, the client system is loosing its network connection (not replying to the ping msgs). The Client is running on a Fedora Core 4 System and the server is running on a Ubuntu 5.10 and I am using Gigabit cards for my communication.

Did any one face the same problem?
