I am trying to use Iperf on two laptops linked by a Cat 5 cable to two Ethernet NICs for a demonstration of how throughput decreases with packet size. I want to turn off flow control to see the results that way, but every time I disable flow control on the NICs, the dynamic IP connection resets and even when I set up a static IP on both, Iperf sends the packets but the server doesn't receive them. The client sending the packets give me an error saying "-l implies compatibility" before trying to send packets. Any ideas on how to fix this? This problem only occurs if I disable auto and use manual settings on flow control or max bandwidth on the NICs.
