Re: iperf output wrapper and db import
Tate,
We're building a framework called piPEs that will enable end users to
acquire performance measurements between participating nodes (expected to
be along the end-to-end path).
As a first step, we're getting tools such as traceroute, OWAMP (one-way
delay), iperf, and the like up and running and regularly scheduled between
Abilene backbone nodes and dumping the results into a MySQL database. Once
this is done (end of month?) we'll be working on extending it to
participants who want to set up their own node.
Also, as the code becomes ready, we'll be sharing it open source. The code
you care about specifically is in active development and should be ready in
a few weeks.
You can follow our progress here:

Look at the latest slide presentations for an overview of the architecture.
Finally, volunteers are welcome to contribute if they have the time and
energy to do so. Let me know offline.
