Re: Iperf results vary when roles of client and server are interchanged

Hi mate,
I tried running Iperf in 2 laptops(Win 2000) but got only 10 mbps thorughput using a Ethernet Cable. I have checked the network settings of the laptops and it is configured for 100 mbps. Do you know any reason why this could happen?

Hello,

I have a windowsXP machine and a linux machine
connected back-to-back on gig interface.
The interfaces are auto-negotiate and are running as
1000Mbps Full duplex.

When I run iperf with windows as client and unix as
server I get 660 Mbps throughput.

But if I reverse the role of client and server I get
very less throughput.Ie if I make windows as Server
and linux as Client I get 185 Mbps.I tried varying the
TCP Windows size and it doesnt seem to have any
impact.

Could someone help me to figure out why I see this
kind
of varying behavior.

Thanks
