Incidentally, I should explain my thinking about where I'd like to go with Iperf.

The 2.0.x series will be primarily bug fix releases.

The 2.1.x series will be where I will be putting significant changes and improvements. The buffer patches that Lawrence Stewart has provided will be going in the 2.1.x for example. I have applied for a GSoC student. Here's a link to the page describing what I'd like a GSoC'er to work on:
