D-ITG: anyone have luck building with gcc 4?

I realize that this is the iperf-users list and my question is _not_
about iperf. However, I'm hoping that someone here might be able to
help...

We're using iperf for some traffic generation/testing, but wanted to try
out the D-ITG tool (see
http://www.grid.unina.it/software/ITG/download.php ). The windows
binary seems to work OK, but we're a linux shop so I tried to build it
from source on our referenc platforms (Fedore Core 5). The makefile
bombs out with an error and from what I was able to see, the folks at
Universita Napoli never built with anything but gcc 3.

Has anyone been able to get the 2.4.3 D-ITG binaries to build uising gcc
4 on a 2.6 kernel ? (ideally Fedora distro)

I sent email to the contacts in Italy almost a month ago, but received
no replies. While this tool (D-ITG) looks promising, it's a non-starter
if won't even build...

Hopefully someone out there can help. We continue to use iperf,
regardless.

Thanks in advance!
/doug
