iperf 2.0.2 reports WAY slower throughput speeds than 1.7.0... Why?

Hey Guys,

Just wondering why I get such different throughput reports when using iperf 1.7.0 vs. iperf 2.0.2 on my 12" PowerBook --at-- 1.33GHz w/768MB RAM, running Mac OS 10.4.2:

$ iperf.170 -c 127.0.0.1
------------------------------------------------------------
Client connecting to 127.0.0.1, TCP port 5001
TCP window size: 79.7 KByte (default)
------------------------------------------------------------
[  3] local 127.0.0.1 port 59125 connected with 127.0.0.1 port 5001
[ ID] Interval       Transfer     Bandwidth
[  3]  0.0-10.0 sec  2.58 GBytes  2.22 Gbits/sec

$ iperf.202 -c 127.0.0.1
------------------------------------------------------------
Client connecting to 127.0.0.1, TCP port 5001
TCP window size: 79.7 KByte (default)
------------------------------------------------------------
[  3] local 127.0.0.1 port 59129 connected with 127.0.0.1 port 5001
[  3]  0.0-10.0 sec    107 MBytes  89.5 Mbits/sec

Note: I've tried other Macintosh's, also running Mac OS 10.4.2, and end up with the same results. Moreover, running iperf from one Macintosh to another, running Mac OS 10.4.2, also produces the same results.

Why??? I really want to bump up to version 2.0.2 for my testing but cannot until this issue is resolved.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Randy
